Wordsalad Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
Wordsalad makes word clouds on your iPhone and iPad. It is built so that your text and your word clouds stay yours.
What we collect
Nothing about you or your work. Wordsalad has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We don't collect, store or share any personal information or usage data, and nothing you type or create is sent to us. The only records kept off your device are of your purchases, described under RevenueCat below.
Your documents and fonts
Word clouds are saved as .wsdoc files where you choose to keep them: on your device or in a cloud storage service you use through the Files app, such as iCloud Drive. Fonts you import are copied into the app's own storage on your device. Wordsalad builds word clouds on the device and never uploads your text, documents or fonts.
Services Wordsalad talks to
- Apple Intelligence. Words about a topic are made by Apple's on-device model. Your topic stays on your device.
- Wikipedia import. When you search Wikipedia from the text editor, Wordsalad sends your search terms and the article you pick directly to Wikipedia (
wikipedia.org, run by the Wikimedia Foundation) to fetch the article text. Nothing is sent unless you use this feature. The Wikimedia Privacy Policy applies to those requests. - Subscriptions. Wordsalad Pro is an auto-renewing subscription bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, and we never see your payment details, name, email or Apple Account. You can cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Apple's privacy policy applies.
- RevenueCat. To check which features you have unlocked, Wordsalad uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. It receives your App Store purchase records (products, dates, prices and country), a random app user ID created by RevenueCat that isn't linked to your identity, and basic technical details such as the app version, device model and system language. It's used only to unlock what you paid for, never for advertising or tracking. The RevenueCat Privacy Policy applies.
- Feedback. “Send Feedback” opens an email to us in your mail app. We receive only what you choose to send, and use it only to answer you.
- Ratings. The app may ask the system to show the App Store rating prompt. Apple decides whether it appears and handles any rating you give.
Versions before 6.0 sent anonymous usage events to Google Firebase Analytics. Wordsalad 6.0 removed it.
Children
Wordsalad collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
